WOLF

by | Read by Christian Rodska

Children • 4.5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1990

Nan mysteriously banishes Cassy from her home. As a result, Cassy embarks upon a search for her vagabond mother. She joins an odd cast of characters living in Goldie's London squat to produce a school program about wolves, which then begin to haunt her waking hours, as well as her dreams. The content here is complex and chilling, just right for its intended young adult audience. Foreshadowing, symbolism and folklore references enrich the story. Christian Rodska's inflections are studied, his pacing perfect. Though some Briticisms may give young listeners pause, they won't interfere with enjoyment of this frightening tale.
