Coming on the heels of some recent environmental disasters, the book is opportune and necessary. Pete Larkin’s deep, resonant voice and authoritative tone work well. He grabs our attention with a businesslike pace and varies his reading enough to keep us interested throughout. At times, he sounds like a news reporter giving us the facts, and that can lead to some tedium, but the book’s subject is timely and calls for specific solutions from our top political leaders—today’s and tomorrow’s.
