QUEEN OF THE AIR A True Story of Love and Tragedy at the Circus

The biggest star in The Greatest Show on Earth at the turn of the twentieth century stood just 4 feet 10 inches and weighed less than 100 pounds. Leitzel was born into a circus family and grew into a world-renowned trapeze artist known as the "Queen of the Air." Emma Bering narrates the story of Leitzel's life, a difficult one, particularly before she became a star. Jensen includes quotations from contemporaries of Lietzel, and Bering in those instances uses accents appropriate to the nationalities of the people being quoted.
