PINES

With inspiration from “Twin Peaks” and a dash of “The X-Files” comes this sci-fi thriller. With this story the listener should take nothing for granted. Narrator Paul Michael Garcia’s strong pacing captures the plot twists, never getting in the way the Secret Service Agent Ethan Burke struggles to uncover the truth of the town of Wayward Pines, Idaho. Garcia’s accomplished narration skills are on display as Burke seeks to find out what happened to two federal agents who disappeared in the town a month earlier. Soon a lot of other questions crop up about the the town, too. A few minor variations in characters’ intonations occur, but generally the vocal characterizations give substance to the story.
