A FISTFUL OF COLLARS Chet and Bernie, Book 5

by | Read by Jim Frangione

Mystery & Suspense • 10.5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2012

Chet tells the story of his detective agency's gig to keep a movie star out of headlines. While working, he hankers for sausage and eats hot dogs from the ground. He also gnaws table legs when he's upset. In other words, he's a dog. And partner Bernie Little is his human best friend. Narrator Jim Frangione's voice perfectly conveys a thought process that's alternately simple and complex. Chet's love of smells--whether deep fried grease or dusty desert--will be felt by listeners, at least those who know dogs. Chet's fishing for the right human word or taking phrases such as "His bark is worse than his bite" literally sound natural as delivered by Frangione. He doesn't bark, but Frangione still makes Chet's point of view credible. J.A.S. © AudioFile 2013, Portland, Maine [Published: MARCH 2013]
