Personal Growth • 3 hrs. • Audio Program • © 1999

At first, authors Cameron and Goldberg sound maddeningly alike. Both authors have written bestsellers that have taken the writing world by storm (Cameron--THE ARTIST'S WAY, Goldberg--WRITING DOWN THE BONES). Both espouse writing to be a spiritual practice that is a way of life, not a mere vocation or avocation. All the commentary and advice is useful, so what does it matter who says what? Perhaps because creative works are born of individuality--it does. Happily, as the program progresses, one notices that Goldberg's approach is more Zen-like than Cameron's, although only slightly. Nobody is going to give either author an award for vocal quality, but their generosity toward budding writers is what counts here. E.K.D. © AudioFile 2000, Portland, Maine [Published: OCT/NOV 00]
