THE RED FOX The Adventures of Merlin the Cat, Book 1

Alexia Hodgson stirs a sense of curiosity and energy with her crisp, albeit hurried, reading of this children's story about Merlin the cat's visit to the red fox's home. Though Hodgson's enunciation is quite clear and her intonations animated, there’s little separation between the characters' voices. The fact that this short story is broken into two parts doesn't help Hodgson's brisk reading pace, which glosses over serene scenes when Merlin is visiting the fox's den or drifting off to sleep by the magic pool or visiting the magical land of dreams and rushes the reader to the story's abrupt conclusion.
