WHEN JOHNNY CAME MARCHING HOME

by | Read by R.C. Bray

Mystery & Suspense • 8.75 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2012

R.C. Bray's narration is stronger than the weak material of this novel, set after the Civil War. Jubal Foster, a recently returned veteran, reluctantly tries to solve a murder in the aftermath of the the war. Bray handles the flashbacks to the war but bogs down in the irrelevant historical details. He does what he can with Jubal's emotional flatness, but, overall, Bray's efforts are wasted on a disappointing book from Edgar winner Heffernan.
