BOOMERANG!

BOOMERANG! is an audio magazine directed at and emceed by early to middle-graders. Topics range from a time-travel interview with Dr. Albert Schweitzer in Africa to a discussion of Affirmative Action. Between the historical and contemporary news are plenty of fun tales about rare reptiles, coin collecting and weird words, as well as subscriber letters telling about the strange things parents do. For the most part, transitions between the stories are smooth. Relevant music, sound effects and the announcement of each topic help, as does the colorful jacket copy, which is filled with extra activities and suggested reading material.
