WHO STOLE THE AMERICAN DREAM?

Smith details the bankrupting (often literally) of the middle class over the past 35 years and the disruption of American polity by the business and economic elite and the politicians they control. He himself reads a long foreword with conviction, though his voice is not engaging. Narrator Rob Shapiro can't match his passion, but his clear, soft-spoken voice is good for the long haul. He expresses well the author's dismay, incredulity, and concern at what has happened to the nation and the danger it faces. He handles the many facts, figures, and arguments with clarity and intelligence. The text and Shapiro's smooth, convincing delivery make this compelling program difficult to lay aside.
