THE HEART'S CODE

by | Read by Paul Pearsall

Personal Growth • 3 hrs. • Abridged • ©

Pearsall, an accomplished psychoneuroimmunologist, specializes in the heart's role in feelings, sensations, and memories. He maintains that the heart is a separate center from the brain and that it houses emotions, spirituality, and temperament in its "cellular memory." To support his thesis, he cites the many examples he has collected of heart transplant patients who have undergone dramatic changes after receiving new hearts. Pearsall reads the script in a scholarly voice. He is fairly dry but sounds hushed and reverent in some parts, particularly those dealing with spirituality. Short periods of instrumental music bracket the sides of the tapes. A.G.H. © AudioFile 2001, Portland, Maine [Published: APR/MAY 01]
