THE RUSSIAN DONATION

A German hospital is the backdrop for this mystery in which a cardiologist turns amateur sleuth to investigate the death of a former patient. Before long, Dr. Hoffman finds himself facing both the Russian mafia and corrupt hospital administrators. Narrator Michael Page delivers Hoffman's dry sense of humor with perfection. His narration allows the wit of the writing to shine through without being heavy-handed. Page also differentiates the other lead characters well, with plausible characterizations of both males and females. Even during the slower-paced sections of the story Page helps keep the listener engaged.
