Jake Weber's spirited narration makes this thriller a nonstop listening experience. The "ghostman" is a bank robber who orchestrates bank heists and then successfully, and creatively, disappears. The complicated story connects two robberies five years apart and pits the ghostman against a drug lord, a gang leader, and a female FBI agent. Weber takes an usual pace--slower than expected--but it works. His deep baritone keeps listeners tuned in to the suspense. While the voice he gives the drug lord doesn't sound quite tough enough for all the violence, he succeeds with the other characters who make this worth listening to.
