Caught between heaven and earth, Felicia Ward spends eternity reviewing memories of her 18 years of life, interspersed with an occasional conversation with the other girls in her "dorm." When the sameness of her existence is shattered by the appearance of a boy she knew in life, Felicia must make some hard decisions, particularly whom to trust in the ages-long battle between angels and humans. Few narrators have developed a teen voice as well as Jenna Lamia, whose lively reading captivates listeners from the first minutes. Lamia's emotional interpretation of Felicia boosts listeners' connection with the teen as she moves from complacency at her situation to the realization that she's been used as a pawn and her discovery of her inner power.
