THE BOTTOM LINE AND THE SHARP END

These seven short stories by contemporary British author Weldon are taken from two of her collections, WATCHING ME, WATCHING YOU and POLARIS AND OTHER STORIES. These are classic tales of unhappy, middle-class British lives, of women scorned, of revenge and unfaithfulness. British actress Julie Christie does a marvelous job capturing the satiric bite of Weldon’s characters. She expressively delivers the author’s terse dialogue and witty conversations.
