After going through a bad breakup with a cheating boyfriend and then enduring a series of spectacularly bad blind dates at the hands of her interfering but determined mother, 30-year-old Emma Bailey decides to swear off all men for good--that is, all except her longtime friend, Brian, who is suddenly looking a lot more interesting. Johanna Parker's overly rapid delivery, whiny tone, and caricatured Southern accents fit perfectly but do nothing to make this collection of unlikable characters more palatable. The overly long and sappy story can offend on a variety of levels, and this reviewer hoped it would end sooner than it does. A.C.P. © AudioFile 2013, Portland, Maine [Published: APRIL 2013]
