MATT'S MILLION

If you suddenly became a millionaire, what would you do? How would you behave? What would you buy? Most people never get the chance to do more than dream this fantasy, but Matt Collins actually gets to experience it, when he opens his mail and finds a check for over one million pounds made out to him. Nigel Planer creates wonderful individual voices for each of the characters, young and old, as well as voicing all the emotions that Matt goes through--surprise, disbelief, frustration, fear, joy. His shopping trip for a computer and games turns into an out-of-control shopping spree. We feel his joy when he shows up at school in a Rolls Royce and his disappointment when so many of his dreams leave him feeling empty and disillusioned. And we watch him change and grow, as he learns about the serious, responsible side of having money, the confidence it brings, and the lessons it teaches.
