THE SCANDALOUS LADY WRIGHT

by | Read by Jenny Quayle

Fiction • 5.25 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1990

THE SCANDALOUS LADY WRIGHT would be a good story to hear, and that's the key word: Hear. Jenny Quayle has a speech impediment, and, to overcome it she doesn't pronounce "t," "s," or "ch." She doesn't voice them. By the third tape, she's swallowing all the consonants she can find, and the sound becomes erratic because the microphone can't get a solid word from her. After turning dials while driving, I gave up. I'll never know why the Lady was scandalous. I hope that Jenny Quayle is not related to Anthony of the same name. I admire his work, his acting, and his speech. If she's his daughter, then apple falls far from tree. J.P. © AudioFile 2001, Portland, Maine [Published: APR/MAY 01]
