PROOF OF HEAVEN A Neurosurgeon's Near-Death Experience and Journey into the Afterlife

Scientist and neurosurgeon Eben Alexander delivers his own work with skill. His book portrays his own near-death experience, which revealed that life doesn't end with death, as the doctor had believed. While in a deep coma and near death from bacterial meningitis, he had an intense spiritual experience, which he describes in tones of wonder. First, he captures his initial fear of a "pounding darkness" in which "grotesque animal faces" screech and groan. His tone warms as he then describes an angelic being on the wings of a butterfly that appeared to act as his guide.
