CUSTER

by | Read by Henry Strozier

Biography & Memoir • 3 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2012

Henry Strozier gives a fine reading of this book by well-known Western author McMurtry. It's more or less the author's rambling musings on George Armstrong Custer, his infamous "Last Stand" (among other things Custer), and seemingly everything else about the West. The author lists several books at the beginning of his book that may be of interest to the listener. Anyone who wants to know more about Custer should read those books and skip this one. Henry Strozier has a deep, resonant, gravelly voice, and he delivers this production in a laid-back manner that suits the text. But there really isn't a whole lot to this book, which comes in at just under three hours. M.T.F. © AudioFile 2013, Portland, Maine [Published: JANUARY 2013]
