Narrator Jeff Brick rises to the challenges of this book, keeping listeners fascinated with the stories and clear on which man's voice is speaking in the alternating chapters. One of his best renderings is that of Pancho, a wise man of few words who reveals what he knows about the fabled city with a poetic yet frightening voice. With humor and naïveté, Brick depicts Juan, who enthusiastically drives Stewart into the jungle in his boss's Geo Prism.
