LUTHER: THE CALLING

by | Read by David Bauckham

Mystery & Suspense • 11 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2011

John Luther, homicide detective with London's Serious Crime Unit, is a "big man with a big walk" in this prequel to the popular BBC series "Luther." Narrator David Bauckham handles a melting pot of rich characters and accents with aplomb. Most unique is his rendering of dialogue and text during particularly emotive situations. The two story lines vary greatly: An elderly man is forced to sell his home to an unscrupulous developer, and a is couple murdered and their baby stolen from the mother's womb. Luther is an excellent detective who occasionally uses questionable methods to get to the bottom of his investigations. Since this book is written sparingly--like TV--audio is the perfect medium.
