Mystery & Suspense • 15.75 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1999

It's appropriate that this thriller is performed by an Englishman. Steven Crossley's Cockney accent makes British secret agent Nick Stone larger than life. When Stone is given the assignment of killing his former lover, Sara, also an agent, he follows her trail to the backwoods of the American South. Unfortunately, Crossley's Southern accents are almost laughable--and all the Southern characters sound alike. Still, as the plot becomes more complex and Sarah seems to be on a righteous mission to thwart an assassination plot, the listener becomes more interested--and more accepting of this one flaw in an otherwise exciting narration.
