THE CRANE WIFE

Beautiful prose and a meandering story make this a strong audio title, maybe even more so than the print version of the novel. Jamie Glover's rich baritone infuses the detailed images with a sense of mystery and uncertainty. He gives voice to the angst of the main character, George, in a precise tone and controlled pace that reveals his personality as a American living in London. Glover’s vocal dexterity during the dialogue of the characters makes the conversations more realistic—including a raised voice for arguments.
