DEATH AT THE OPERA

As the listener is drawn into the heart of school life in 1930s England, the everyday petty intrigues of the staff room give way to the apparent suicide of a seemingly inoffensive school mistress. Narrator Patience Tomlinson voices a cast of characters as diverse as the headmaster, who suspects foul play, and Mrs. Bradley, a psychoanalyst with an unconventional approach who is bought in to help investigate the death. The ever fluctuating cast of suspects, including males and females, are differentiated through the subtle use of tone and accents, which ensures that listeners can follow every new red herring.
