DEATH DANCE

by | Read by Gordon Griffin

Mystery & Suspense • 7.5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2010

Gordon Griffin is the best reason to listen to this 13th episode in the Rafferty/Llewellyn police procedurals. The story itself suffers from frequent repetition of character descriptions, which call attention to themselves, and annoyingly rehashed plot points, keeping this from being one of Evans's best outings. Griffin makes it all worthwhile, however, maintaining a strong, steady grip on the characters. This time, a woman is found strangled in her home. In addition to a bad marriage, an angry stepson, and a hypercritical mother-in-law, she had numerous lovers. Rafferty's impending marriage, discovery of fingerprints from his fiancée at the crime scene, and odd family add to the mix. Start at the beginning if you're new to the series.
