DEATH ON THE ELEVENTH HOLE

by | Read by Andrew Wincott

Mystery & Suspense • 7.5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2002

Chief Inspector John Lambert and his partner, Bert Hook, must take to the links to solve their latest case. Narrator Andrew Wincott captures each character perfectly. Listeners will chuckle as Lambert pompously advises Hook on improving his golf game, much to his irritation. A surprisingly large number of suspects emerge as they investigate the death of a drug-dealing prostitute whose body was found on the eleventh green. Wincott's heavy accent adds authenticity. His most appealing and moving creation is Father Gillespie--Irish accent and all--who tirelessly helps local addicts while assisting the police. Listeners will be kept guessing until the end in this depiction of modern crime and its detection by a humane but believable duo. S.G.B. © AudioFile 2013, Portland, Maine [Published: NOVEMBER 2013]
