Everything you ever wanted to know about our WWII hero and thirty-fourth president is contained in this book. Narrator Nelson Runger reads in a slow, methodical voice that allows the reader to digest a great amount of information without being overwhelmed. Runger has a clear tone and superb diction that, combined with his authoritative presentation, fit perfectly with the book's subject. Eisenhower's presidency is undergoing historical revision at present, with Ike being painted as much more involved than previously depicted. This book strengthens that case, and Runger's narration enhances its argument. Anyone interested in good history will enjoy this effort.
