DON'T CRY FOR ME

When Mariah is released from the hospital, fellow ex-soldier Quinn brings her to his secluded home in the Appalachian Mountains to recover from her war injuries. Kathe Mazur inhabits the characters with modulated voices that highlight the drawls and mannerisms of the townsfolk as well as the fast talk of the city slickers. Her low tones capture the high tension of Mariah’s nightmarish flashbacks and the tenderness of her emotional reconnection with Quinn. Mazur’s precise pacing conveys heightened suspense as Quinn hunts for a mysterious poacher who leads him to a money-making but suspicious business in the once peaceful community of Rebel Ridge. Mazur’s steady, rich performance thoroughly immerses the listener in the story as she conveys the emotions and personalities of the characters.
