This memoir by Liberace's longtime lover has been made into a biopic starring the award-winning Michael Douglas and Matt Damon. This fact likely explains the creation of this audio edition of an older work. Thorson's sensational, trashy account provides a thumbnail sketch of his years with Liberace, emphasizing the lawsuits that flew in all directions at the end of the relationship. Peter Berkrot provides a direct and unadorned narration. However, too often he swallows his words and trails off in volume at the ends of longer sentences. A new epilogue furnishes an update on the tragic shooting of Thorson and his more recent New England years. Suffice to say that listening reveals the author's tendency toward narcissism and sensationalism. W.A.G. © AudioFile 2013, Portland, Maine [Published: MAY 2013]
