JUNIUS AND ALBERT'S ADVENTURES IN THE CONFEDERACY A Civil War Odyssey

Carlson gives us the adventurous, and often dire, story of two Northern newspaper reporters who were captured and held prisoner in the South during the Civil War. Narrator Danny Campbell's affability and expressiveness engage the listener in the story, which he moves through with perfect pacing, although initially his voice sounds strained. His manner and amiable voice fit the rousing, adventurous parts of the story but seem too cheery for the horrors of Southern prisoner-of-war camps and harrowing escape attempts.
