QI: THE SOUND OF GENERAL IGNORANCE

by | Read by John Lloyd, John Mitchinson

Contemporary Culture • 4.5 hrs. • Abridged • © 2013

This is the audio version of The Book of General Ignorance (abridged), the point of which is to wow us with things we thought we knew, but were so obviously wrong about. Here, you learn that the blue whale is not, in fact, the largest animal on earth and that you can't see the Great Wall of China from the moon. The authors narrate their playful book, alternating entries, and they do a very nice job. Both Johns have formal English accents and they read with the enthusiasm you'd expect from authors who are proud of their efforts. Although the book is enjoyable, the two voices do begin to flag during some entries, and they read within a narrow vocal range for a good part of the book.
