THE NEW DIGITAL AGE Reshaping the Future of People, Nations and Business

by | Read by Roger Wayne

Contemporary Culture • 10.75 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2013

Roger Wayne does a professional, evenly paced job of narrating this audiobook/policy paper. But regardless of his skill, some listeners may avail themselves of the handy button that speeds up the presentation. There's so much material to get through, and the authors don't always engage the listener. The premise of this work seems to be that the digital future will be better than we expect--or at least won't be as bad as we fear. Much of the book--for example, the big sell on cloud technologies--has a self-serving ring--as if the authors (both on the Google payroll) seek to justify their company's growth. Though the audiobook is threaded with interesting facts and analysis, it lacks a trajectory and narrative, possibly leaving some listeners unsatisfied.
