WHERE'S MY SHOES? My Father's Walk Through Alzheimer's

by | Read by Barbara Caruso

Biography & Memoir • 7.25 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1999

What an irony that the reader of this book about Alzheimer's disease sounds exactly like Nancy Reagan. Barbara Caruso's speech is cultured and mature, hardly fitting the text, which, like the title, suffers from noticeable grammatical errors. One could argue, however, that such talk adds to the realism of a working-class family's personal experience with Alzheimer's disease. With lots of quotes, the narrator makes no attempt to differentiate them vocally. While this is a missed opportunity, the overall performance still enhances the author's intent to educate us.
