WIELDING A RED SWORD

George Guidall makes the out-of-the ordinary seem almost ordinary in Book Four of Incarnations of Immortality. The story follows Mym, an Indian prince, through his mortal life into his acceptance of the duties of Mars, the Incarnation of War. Guidall shows the many facets of Mym's character and the strong passions and emotions that he controls through force of character and discipline. Guidall's mastery of timing and subtlety are on display. He provides dimension through his personification of his characters, including the female characters who have ancillary status in this macho world, but whom Guidall presents with respect.
