DEATH GOES ON RETREAT

It was supposed to be a peaceful retreat, but something went wrong--dead wrong! Vera Rosewalker's vocalizations are intended to distinguish individual personalities, but her theatrical style is overdone for some of the characters. There are technical imperfections as well; specifically, breathing sounds distract from the dialogue in several scenes. The final product is an acceptable rendition that would have been more effective if the plot had been given center stage instead of the narrator.
