Scott portrays the burned-out Frank Pierce with clinical detachment and softens the delivery by varying his other characters. He maneuvers with agility from a lyrical Jamaican accent to black jive to crisp New York street talk, and is equally adept at shifting from male to female characters as he skillfully narrates this riveting tale.
