Thirteen essays on bugs continue naturalist Sue Hubbell's splendid nature series, which started in 1983 with A Country Year. Hubbell makes each of the bugs fascinating, from the charming katydid to the not-so-charming "killer bees." Barbara Caruso does an excellent job with the first-person narration. Her voice is the voice of Sue Hubbell, and she's as enthusiastic as the author must be with what she knows and learns.
