KANGA AND BABY ROO COME TO THE FOREST

[Editor’s Note: The following is a combined review with PIGLET IS ENTIRELY SURROUNDED BY WATER.]--A.A.Milne was a master at addressing issues important to young children. In these recordings his concerns are how to deal with the new child in the neighborhood who upsets the balance of friendship and how to be independent and resourceful. In addition, the adventures of Pooh and Christopher Robin rescuing Piglet by umbrella boat after they receive his “missage” in a bottle and Rabbit’s “Plan to Capture Baby Roo” are delightful stories that will be remembered. One listens with pleasure as Grammy Award winner Charles Kuralt narrates these stories of flood and new friendships in the Hundred-Acre Wood. His voice is rich, relaxed, and steadily paced.
