Wanda McCaddon's confident tone, consistent pace, and crisp pronunciation of long Greek names are helpful. She presents a strong female voice, which is significant in telling this story of an assertive woman like the writer. As McCaddon moves us through the narrative at a swift rate, she keeps the lengthy sentences and dense personal histories of family members from weighing down the story.
