PLEASE DON'T STOP THE MUSIC

This gem of a listen has a slow build but is well worth the wait. Jemima Hutton, a woman with secrets and a fear of staying too long in one place, meets reclusive former rock star Ben Davies, now a guitar shop owner with secrets of his own. Narrator Penny Rawlins pulls a full range of distinct British accents from her repertoire, making each character easily recognizable. This slowly unveiling story of learning to love and trust is wonderfully enhanced by witty banter and real emotion. Rawlins's portrayals of Saskia, the whiney, stuck-up shop owner; Jason, the gifted artist; and Rosie, the overwhelmed newly single mother are also spot-on.
