WHY LEADERSHIP SUCKS Fundamentals of Level 5 Leadership and Servant Leadership

With a broad sampling of leadership advice, this conversational book encourages people to move from authoritarian leadership styles to working with teams in more collaborative, respectful, and authentic ways. The author's speaking voice is clear and sincere, but the production seems too intimate and the performance too tired for this transformational message. Smith's phrasing glitches also make parts of this potpourri of content difficult to follow, though most listeners, with some effort, will piece together what he's saying. The book is a heartfelt reminder that leaders should operate within a moral framework, as well as a useful collection of advice on how to how to communicate clear directives, give credit when it's due, hire right, fire respectfully, and allow team members to grow in their jobs.
