STALKER

This is the eleventh in the series, but regulars Peter Decker and Rina Lazarus take a backseat in this one. Here Peter's daughter, Cindy, a rookie police officer is at the center of this multilayered and far-fetched story. The plot evolves around a year-old murder and the nastiness policemen dole out to policewomen; the denouement seems contrived. Paula Parker reads Peter Decker slowly, making him sound somewhat dim-witted while Marg and Rina sound like old biddies who should be trading recipes.
