TITUS ALONE

by | Read by Edmund Dehn

Fiction • 11.75 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1970

This concluding installment of the Gormenghast trilogy begins with the abdication of Titus and follows him through a sequence of events and characters that are not quite what he expected. Edmund Dehn's narration flows with the lyricism of the prose. His presentation is careful, deliberate, and fluid. The voices he gives to the primary characters are distinct and fit their relationship with Titus and the nature of their various experiences. Male characters, in particular, are complex and expressive. Unlike some narrators who seem uncomfortable with pauses, Dehn uses them to good effect.
