SANCTUARY ISLAND

Julia Gibson voices a leisurely paced romance about second chances, new beginnings, and mending family relationships. Ella has decided to join her sister, Mary, in visiting Sanctuary Island in order to reconnect with their estranged mother. The island offers a chance to forgive past mistakes, but Ella is in for more than she expects--especially when it comes to handyman Grady Wilkes. Julia Gibson gives a deep-toned narration with husky character voices for both male and female characters. The characters aren't always distinct, and the female voices have subtle throaty differences that make it hard to tell who's speaking. The pacing is slow and relaxed, but the transitions between each track and each chapter sometimes include an extended pause, making the flow awkward.
