THE LITTLE RED HEN

Debra Messing narrates this well-loved story with enthusiasm. While the little red hen has only a rooster and a mouse as companions, she still must carry out the tasks of planting, tending, harvesting, grinding, and baking--the result of which is her aromatic loaf of bread. In this account, the process is successfully repeated with the assistance of the rooster and mouse. Messing's firm-voiced hen is undaunted in persevering with her tasks. As the rooster and the mouse, Messing delivers each chorus of "Not I" speedily and cheerily. Her distinctly enunciated phrasing makes this production perfect for young listeners, as does the jaunty music that accompanies the narration.
