Delia Ephron covers a variety of topics in this collection of essays: her sister, Nora; her favorite bakeries in New York City; growing up with alcoholic parents; and her beloved dogs, among other topics. As narrator, Meg Ryan is a pleasantly familiar voice, and something of a natural choice since she has been in several movies written by the Ephron sisters. Her voicing is feminine and down-to-earth, and she imparts emotion to the more interesting personal essays, which provide a glimpse into the personalities and relationships in the Ephron family.
