SECRETS OF THE DEAD

Reporter John Luciew's novel serves up a slice of contemporary life in Pennsylvania as he portrays the difficult lives of many Iraq and Afghanistan vets in this sequel to FATAL DEAD LINES. Lenny Holcomb is an obituary writer who skillfully personalizes the deceased and gives even the lowliest citizen a dignified write-up. Narrator Mike Vendetti energetically presents Lenny and his co-workers, as well as politicians, the homeless, and the police. When a homeless vet is found dead and the Harrisburg police seem to turn a blind eye on the suspicious death, Lenny swings into action--even using a bloodhound to get one up on the cops.
