A NEW WORLD: CHAOS

A full cast gives a mixed performance of this action-packed novel, which is the first in a series about a world catastrophe. Most of mankind has turned into nocturnal, man-eating zombie-like creatures. The main character, Jack, like the author, is a former Special Ops pilot who puts all his training and experience into making sure his family survives in this new horrible world. John Fetherolf takes the lead in this first-person account, and his staccato delivery is sometimes monotonous. The supporting cast presents the dialogue of the other characters but lacks variety in pacing and expression. As the story progresses, the narrators settle in--or maybe this reviewer did.
