Narrator Suzy Jackson reflects the shifting viewpoints of 12-year-old Mila as a trip to America with her beloved father is transformed when his best friend goes missing. Mila swings into sleuth mode, determined to discover the missing man's whereabouts. Jackson's perceptive performance captures Mila's pride at collecting clues that escape the adults and her confusion over facts that refuse to add up.
